Tyler Leon

Hello, From

Mr. Leon

Dear Parents,

I just wanted to personally introduce myself to you. My name is Tyler Leon and I’m proud to say that I will be your child's new ELA, basic skills, and/or history teacher. Let me begin by telling you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Long Beach, California. I attended California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and graduated with a bachelor degree in Child Development and Family Studies. I then continued at CSULB and entered into the Education Specialist Teaching Credential Program. I received my mild/ moderate and moderate/ severe teaching credentials and my Masters of Science, Special Education.

I began my pursuit in special education at Ocean View School District 11 years ago. I was an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapist for seven years. Since then, I began my amazing journey that guided the path into my career. I began my teaching career teaching a kindergarten moderate to severe special day classroom. I then helped out my program specialist to create a new district program called Stepping Stones. This class was mainly for students who had significant behavior problems that fell under the eligibility of autism. I taught that class for two years with students ages ranging from kindergarten to fourth grade. I have worked with all ages from pre-school all the way up to 8th graders ranging from a variety unique skills and personalities.

I am new to Newport Mesa School District and excited to be at Ensign Intermediate School. I can’t wait to see what this school year has in store for your child’s education and growth, as I bring in my own style of teaching with strategies and techniques into the classroom. Thank you so much and I’ll be looking forward to talking to and meeting all of you. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Tyler Leon, M.S.
