Incoming 7th Graders (Honors and Regular)

You will all need to read the novel The Magician's Nephew written by C.S. Lewis.  You will have a 50-point, 50-question multiple choice test on the second day of school administered by your 7th grade teacher.

Honors students will have to turn in a vocabulary assignment on the first day of school.  Please read your summer assignment paper carefully as you will be graded on how well you can follow directions.

Incoming 8th Graders - Regular

Please read the novel Hoot written by Carl Hiaasen.  You will have a 50-point, 50-question multiple choice test on the second day of school administered by your 8th grade teacher.

Incoming 8th Graders - Honors

In addition to Hoot, you will be required to read The Call of the Wild written by Jack London.  You will be given a 50-point, 50-question multiple choice test by Mrs. Liebengood, the 8th grade honors teacher.  You will also have to turn in a vocabulary summer assignment, due on the first day of school.  Please follow all directions carefully on the assignment.

If you would like to purchase the copy of The Call of the Wild with pictures and background information (but same text), the ISBN # is 0-670-86796-9.  This is not the required copy and any version of The Call of the Wild will work.
